I Dare You.
Look Over Your Shoulders.
Do You See Them?
They are behind you...
They are always behind you.

Abigail Cells had a nightmare the day before she met Gideon, the new guy in school who has every girl drooling just to be near him. In her nightmare, she was murdered by a magical creature. As she gets to know Gideon, she begins to remember pieces of her nightmare, and was shocked when Gideon turned out to be the creature from her nightmare. Who is Gideon really? Should Abby allow herself to fall completely for him, or is he the next disaster waiting to happen?

Action-packed and dangerous, this story will definitely take you on a fast-paced spin! The cover is absolutely stunning, I love it. Little things about each of the main characters is highlighted in this cover, like Abi's bow and arrow (plus necklace!), Gideon in his leather jacket paired with the long sword and Tristan… just looking very ethereal! In the old cover Abi was wearing a pink dress, I don't mind which one as the colours both stand out and the cover still looks stunning.

Gideon is classed as a nightmare amongst his world, and Tristan is classed as the angel who looks after all. When Gideon's destruction has finally reached it limit, Gideon is assigned to Tristans human Abigail Cells: famous for her mothers fashion range and secretly training to protect her mother as her father must stay away for their protection. When Abigail meets Gideon she is scared, and Gideon is determined to get rid of her and prove his strength. But as Tristan makes it harder for Gideon to get near Abi and her friends, the only thing he can do… is to become her closest 'friend'.

We are told the story from three prospectives; Abi's, Gideon's and Tristan's.
  • Gideon is ruthless, unforgiving, selfish and is compared to the Devil himself. He hangs around with the Grim Reaper and is prone to cause many deaths in the space of 24 hours. He is feared throughout the land, maybe his 'hobby' is a bit over the top in the numbers, but this just accentuates the presence he has over those living in his world and on earth.
  • Tristan is kind, gentle and loving. He constantly looks out for Abi and as many people as he can around the world. He is unselfish and constantly thinking of others, comforting them when in need of comfort. He always brings a smile to your face and lightens up a room when he enters. However, you can tell there is simmering anger and annoyance under his positive exterior.
  • Abi is a complicated character. On the outside she is kind and will always help and protect those around her. However, she does appear to always have a cloud of sadness and longing, especially for her father. She is additionally an emotional girl alongside being strong and independent, not to mention surprising with all the training she has had.
This story is action packed with a perfect blend of danger, emotion, romance, and the supernatural. There are mournful scenes that will pull on your heartstrings and guide you straight into Abi's world. But that ENDING! I mean… WHAT!? I have no words, all I know is that I loved it and I need the second instalment,  Elysium, now.
